Bimetal Thermometer with the MAXIVISION® DIAL
Bimetal thermometer instruments from Dresser Instruments broke new ground with the easy-to-read Maxivision® dial. The Ashcroft® Maxivision® dial eliminates parallax error and can be read accurately at many angles.
A bimetal thermometer senses and indicates temperature using a bimetal thermometer coil which consists of two dissimilar metals bonded together. These materials have different coefficients of expansion and, when subjected to temperature change, rotate the coil.
Ashcroft® bimetal thermometers are manufactured at an ISO 9001 certified facility in Stratford, CT to ASME B40.3 Grade A accuracy of 1% of span. An Ashcroft® bimetal thermometer can be ordered in 2", 3" or a 5" dial size; and in a Fahrenheit, Celsius or dual scale range. Various configurations are offered with hermetically sealed cases such as lower, rear or every angle connections with a tamper proof case or an external adjustment, depending on your needs. Standard stem lengths for a bimetal thermometer range from 2 1/2 through 24 inches while non-standard stem lengths up to 60 inches can be custom made.
In selecting a bimetal thermometer, the following factors must be considered:
Temperature range
Accuracy
Type - dry or liquid
Case size
Window material
Externally adjustable versus tamper proof
Case connection
Stem/connection location
Stem length
